In the spirit of giving this holiday season, Wareham-New Bedford Lodge of Elks #73 leadership, members and public, generously donated over $4,000.00 to the Toys for Tots campaign run by the Massachusetts State Police Association in Co-operation with the U.S. Marine Corps.
The Toys for Tots committee, chaired by Jonie Ball, along with Perry, Scooby, Kim, Craig, Tee and Steve Hunt came together to purchase and transport hundreds of toys including bicycles, skateboards, snowboards, games and dolls for children ages newborn to 14. Due to the effort of our Lodge and all those involved, Christmas will be a lot brighter for some children that aren’t as fortunate as most. This is a proud moment for our Lodge that we can continue to serve our community in a positive way. This project is another great example of “ELKS CARE ELKS SHARE” that is part of the creed of our Order.
Thank you to the Grand Lodge for contributing $400 to the campaign as well as the Elks Lodge #73 Kitchen Staff who donated their tips totaling $750.00.
A special thank you to Perry for the use of his trailer in transporting the gifts to the Massachusetts State Police barracks in Bourne, MA.
